Robert Palladino, the United States' Chargé d'Affaires in Budapest, paid a visit to the capital's City Hall, Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
The mayor wrote that he had a comprehensive and pleasant conversation with the Chargé d'Affaires. During the meeting, they discussed the deepening of cooperation between the capital and the embassy, especially in the area of culture and economy, he said.
Gergely Karácsony said: "The relationship of Budapest, the Hungarian nation's capital and the United States has a history going back centuries. The aspiration for freedom has played an equally defining role in the history of both. The relationship of our nations is based on shared values and traditions, and transcends individuals and political parties. I wish the Chargé d'Affaires a productive and pleasant stay in Budapest", wrote Karácsony.
